Honey-Do Blog

Hello, Welcome to The Honey-Do Handyman Blog.

Exterior Wall Painting

Exterior Wall Painting – We painted this accent wall on this Gym building in Silverlake. It was a gray color as you can see, and we painted it with this bright green color which required two coats of paint. As part of this painting, we masked off those letters that you see in the middle of the wall and neatly painted around them.

We do all kinds of painting. We do Interior Painting,  more than exteriors. I recently painted several bedrooms. Firstly, masked off the room, then I patched any holes in the walls and ceiling, then I sanded that. After that I primed the entire room. Then I painted the ceiling with a ceiling paint, then painted the walls with the wall paint. Then I demasked the room and cleaned up. Here on the right you can see on of the rooms that I painted.

New Door knob

Here is a new door knob that I installed in a nice home in La Canada Flintridge, CA. The old door knob was broken, so I removed the 0ld door knob, then I installed this nice shiny new one. As their was already a hole cut for the door knob in the door, it was a straight forward door knob installation project.

New Cedar Fence

Fence Replacement before shot

In these two pictures you can see a fence that we replaced. On the left you can see the old worn out fence and a carpenter, Chris. We then tore down the old fence and built a brand new one. Firstly we installed new posts every eight feet, which were set in 3 feet of concrete. Then after that set, we then installed 2X 4 cross pieces between the posts. Then we installed the new cedar pickets all the wall along the fence. As you can see in the picture to the right, the new Cedar Fence is now installed. This fence was installed in Shadow Hills, CA.

Today is the 3rd of June 2010, wow I’ve been busy! I just posted a picture of a Pot and Pan Rack that I installed for one of my customers in Burbank,CA.
Then I installled a curtain rod in the same apartment in Burbank, CA.

I have posted 2 pictures of the curtain rod that I installed over a closet in this apartment in Burbank,CA. I have also posted several pictures of this nice Pot and Pan Rack that I also installed in this apartment in. Burbank,CA.

er today June 3rd, I went down to a nice neighborhood in Los Angeles, CA. Known as Silverlake. I went to a nice Condo just off Silverlake Blvd. and I installled 7 brand new shiny lever type
Door knobs throughout this Condo in Silverlake. I will post some of the photos of the. Before and after of installing these lever type door knobs.

Those are the before photos of one of the old lever latches. Next I will post the
Pictures of the after shots of the newly installed lever type door latches.

Patio Railing and Window Trim Project in Sunland, CA.

by The Honey-Do Handyman on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 12:11pm

We just completed remodeling and rebuilding the patio railing on a house in Sunland.  This was a Carpentry Project and also Exterior Painting Project. See some pictures here of this project.

Here you can see the before shots of one of the windows before the new molding was added and the patio railing also. We had already started when I took this shot.

This project was done as the home owner had a new fence installed around the front yard and wanted the patio railing to match the new fence. So, we removed the old pieces, and then cut and installed the new pieces. Here a few more pictures of the work being done,

So, we then installed all of the new wood pieces in the entire patio railing and then it was primed and painted with an exterior white paint. Then we installed new molding on a number of the windows around the house. Then caulked and painted them also. The finished product was really nice and below you can see the after pictures of the new patio railing, and the new window trim. The homeowner was quite pleased with the work.
